About Us
A century-old tradition of Highland music, community, and excellence
About Us
City of Bradford Pipe Band is a long-running group of enthusiastic volunteers with a proud history stretching back over 100 years. The band is comprised of three sections; Bagpipes, Drums and Highland dancers with an elected committee from current serving members as its governing body.
The band performs at public events and private functions throughout the year and can offer a varied programme to suit any occasion with the ability to provide a full band, mini band or soloist performer as required.
Uniform plays a large part in the expectations and spectacle of a Pipe Band. The Band wears Hunting Stewart tartan and can wear either ‘Full No. 1 Highland Dress’ or ‘Day Dress’, dependent on the type of function or weather conditions.
Since its formation the Band has been entirely self-funded through engagement fees, member subscriptions and donations. A large part of the Band’s funds during each year is expended against the maintenance and renewal of equipment. An easy way to donate is through the charity shopping fundraising site Easyfundraising. Any online shopping you do with a participating retailer via this link ends up with a small donation to the band. We also accept PayPal donations.
